Texas st crushed utsa in the i35 rivalry 14-1 last night
Texas at home in two weeks is always a rowdy one. Got my tickets today. Usually the only game students will show up for. They undergrads are all retards and usually get shitfaced and make asses of themselves which can be quite entertaining. Usually they start shite with all the hays county ghetto trash in Texas gear. Worth the $12 admission imo

I posted this in another thread the other day:
McNeese pitcher Brett Payne came to the Box last week and had the game of his life, shutting out the Tigers for 6 innings, and earning his first win of the season.
His luck turned when he faced the LA Tech Bulldogs last night. He got run out of the park in the first inning. His replacement gave up a grand slam on his first pitch:
quote from Shreveport Times:
The Bulldogs (18-10) exploded out of the gates, plating six runs in the bottom of the first inning off McNeese (15-14) starter, Brett Payne. The freshman right-hander failed to record an out as the first four Bulldogs reached to begin the game. Then, after a bases-loaded walk from Parker Bates brought home the game’s first run, Steele Netterville greeted the new pitcher, McLemore, with a first-pitch grand slam moonshot to left, giving Tech a 5-0 lead before the Cowboys recorded an out.
Later in the frame, Tech got a bunt single from Mason Robinson and a double from Tanner Huddleston, before catcher Chris Clayton brought home the sixth run of the inning via a sac fly to left.
Final score: 10-4 Tech win
Stuff like this is why I could never bet on baseball.
Steele Netterville, who hit the grand slam, is a sophomore from Shreveport (Byrd). He hit back-to-back homers in a game a few weeks ago.

Epic collapse by Tulane
Led 11-5 in the top of the 9th with 2 outs and a runner on 1st. 10 straight batters reached base to tie the game at 11.
Error in the 11th with 2 outs and a man on 3rd gave Wichita a 12-11 lead and they held on

Jewett is horrible at managing a staff. Tulane doesn’t have any pitching depth, but surely someone can get one out

After blowing game 1 in epic fashion, Tulane totally redeemed themselves by taking the next 2 from Wichita to win the series.
So far kind of a ho-hum year for Louisiana baseball. LSU is still trucking along on their way to hosting a regional, although they have not been dominant. Louisiana Tech and Tulane could make regionals but will need to turn up the gas down the stretch. There a few decent teams in the Southland but they are really beating each other up this year, will likely be a one bid league. I was really high on Louisiana-Lafayette but they have been disappointing. Nice to see Southern playing good baseball again. ULM and Grambling are the only teams with losing records.

Demons sweep Nicholls. Really good weekend. If NSU can put it together we can be a very good team.
Have the pieces to make a run.

Let's go, Demons. I'm going to try to catch their game at ULM Tuesday.

Bumping this thread from the depths of page 4. Tonight offers a few interesting matchups across the state.
ULL will host La Tech. The Bulldogs have been playing well lately, winning 7 straight. Tulane travels to Hammond to play the SELU lions, who have had Tulane’s number the past several years. LSU will take a 20 minute drive across town to kick the shite out of Southern. Grambling will be on the road at Stephen F Austin.

Final: Southern 7 LSU 2
Pretty dominant win by SU
Can’t help but feel good for the Jags. Very solid team and a very good chance they will be in a regional this year.
