My 2018 National League playoffs:

The National League is the weak league this year. I predict that whoever wins the 2018 National League pennant will lose the World Series. The American League is just superior.

NL Seeds
1. Braves (NL East champions)
2. Cubs (NL Central champions)
3. Dodgers (NL West champions)
4. Brewers (NLWC #1)
5. Phillies (NLWC #2)

Brewers def. Phillies (NLWC)
Cubs def. Dodgers in 4 (NLDS #1)
Braves def. Brewers in 5 (NLDS #2)

Braves def. Cubs in 6 to win NLCS and NL pennant
NLCS MVP: Mike Foltynewicz

Braves will lose World Series to Red Sox in 7

If the Braves get to the World Series and play the Red Sox, I'd be ecstatic if it got farther than 5. Boston is historically good this year

Folty and Newcomb will make it closer, they'll shut down Betts and Benintendi for a couple games

I'm assuming you think the Cubs and that amazing pitching staff are unbeatable?

Im assuming the Cubs (still) very young team that has 3+ years of playoff experience, would beat the Braves in a 7 game series

Ah ok. Just like that experienced Cardinals team would handle the really young Cubs in 2015.

Cubs would be favored, but it's not outlandish to think the Braves could win a 7 games series. You're talking about the Braves like they're Little Sisters of the Poor Junior College.

The Braves look unstoppable

I think they can take down the Cubs

Either the Braves or Cubs will represent the NL

They would both lose to the BoSox in 7 classic games

Baseball is due for a good WS this year

Good point about STL. The Braves have been playing great ball all season. Obviously, I’m inclined to favor my team over others.

I will say that, in the matchups Ive seen, I’m not sure the Cubs have been able to even retire Albies all season.

We all are, and again, the Cubs would absolutely be favored in a 7 game series. But the Braves definitely have the talent to win a series if they don't wilt in the spotlight.

ETA: Newcomb, for instance, would be a HUGE wild card. If he commands his fastball like he did in the near no hitter against the Dodgers, he's untouchable.

That's true

Most baseball fans don't want a 4-game sweep or a 5-game destroy-down because it makes the sport a bit diminished because they are less theatrics.

The Cardinals were smoke and mirrors, and on fumes

I called out that they would probably get swept and cubs would also get swept in next round. All year cubs, cardinals, and pirates fought every night for the division.

They were all on fumes. Had nothing to do with young, old, etc.

His point was that playoff experience would let the Cubs easily beat the Braves and my counterpoint was that playoff experience didn't mean shite in that series.
