Tulane plays pretty neck and neck the whole way at SMU.
The Wave are close, just not quite good enough. They're well coached, but the guys don't have great indinvual basketball IQ.
Will be favored in their next three, so that's a plus.

Went ice cold at the end, but otherwise it was a good game.

Tech won 69-54. Was 67-47 with 3 minutes left so a nice cruising victory after all the trouble they've had recently.

Was at the game. Tulane was right there, just got cold late. They don't have a lot of guys who have been in meaningful close late game situations very often. They will handle these games better as they get more experience. They won't be overmatched the rest of the year. They can hang with anybody. Also, Melvin Frazier seriously helped his draft stock saturday, and Caleb Daniels is a future superstar. Roll wave

Yeah, I'm getting more and more worried that Melvin is going to leave after this season. That would suck.
Good for him, obviously. But that will really hurt the team next season to lose him and Cam. Melvin has to be considered for defensive player of the year in the league, though I doubt he'll actually win.
And yes, Caleb is going to be awesome. He needs to be coached up some more, but he seems like a smart kid who really wants to learn the game and improve. He's great in late-game situations at home. Needs to improve his decision-making some in road games in tough atmospheres. But I agree, love that kid's game.
Blake Paul needs to play less and less, really just depending on the matchup. Samir is very frustrating at times and isn't a good finisher, but he makes them better when he's on the court.
Was an encouraging game. Really need to find a way to win the next three.

Agreed with everything you said. Apparently on the braodcast the announcers said MD told them he sees a lot of Eric Gordon in Daniels and thinks he will be a star. Not sure if you've seen him in person, but the whole arena goes "woah" every time he jumps. I have never seen a player elevate as easily as Daniels.
Melvin guarded Shake Milton better than anyone has all season. Terrific performance. Ona Embo has improved tremendously since last year, he has really come a long way.
I agree on Paul. The only thing he gives you is a little rim protection. Sehic is better offensively for sure and can score. Not a great defender but overall he's better than BP. BP was visibly frustrated with his minutes on saturday.
MD has gone with Daniels over Cornish in crunch time in the past 2 games. Thought it was definitely the right move on Wednesday, not sure I would've done it saturday, but overall not a bad idea. The only thing holding CD back is foul trouble, as he picks up 2 quick ones in the first half in a lot of games and has to sit for a long time.
Let's win these next 3. Would hate for the team to run out of gas as the year goes on

I think this all depends on Ona Embo. If he is playing well (like Saturday), he'll be on the court at the end of games. Plus, he is low-key one of our best outside shooters.
At the same time, I REALLY like the lineup of Cornish/Daniels/Frazier/Reynolds/Sehic, with Cornish running sort of a point forward. That gives us a little better rebounding group, which we have struggled on the glass a lot at times this season.
I wouldn't mind seeing that group at the end of games, either. Although I do agree that Ray has been very solid for the team this season.

Really hope Southeastern and Nicholls win on Wednesday. Will set up a huge game on Saturday.

Strictly based on the two teams' games against Tulane, Nicholls looked like a better team to me. We'll see, though.

Not a bad idea either. That group definitely has some length. One of the biggest things for this team is their length and size at guard, allowing them to switch on many screens and cause issues for other teams

It's funny because I was looking at how they did against the Cajuns and Southeastern played ULL a lot closer than Nicholls did. Opposite of how they played against Tulane.
Will be interesting to see for sure.
ETA: didn't see either game in person though

Tulane pretty much dominated Southeastern. Not sure if they had their whole lineup or what, though.
Nicholls had a 20-point lead on Tulane in the 2nd half. They are very athletic and lengthy for a small-major school.
