Those kind of look like soccer cleats. I've always worn the Adidas Barricade and can't see myself changing. Not the most flexible, but it keeps my ankles locked in.

I guess they are all doping.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/08/sports/tennis/maria-sharapova-failed-drug-test.html?_r=0

quote:

Maria Sharapova, a five-time Grand Slam champion and the world’s highest-paid female athlete, announced Monday that she had tested positive for the recently banned drug meldonium at the Australian Open.

The tennis antidoping program confirmed the positive test, which occurred Jan. 26, the day Sharapova lost to Serena Williams in the quarterfinals. Sharapova, who has not played since because of a forearm injury, will be suspended provisionally Saturday pending a ruling in the case.

The commercial fallout was swift. Nike, one of Sharapova’s longtime sponsors, announced in a statement that it was suspending its relationship with her “while the investigation continues.” Sharapova has her own clothing line with Nike, with whom she signed an eight-year extension in 2010 that could reportedly be worth up to $70 million.

Sharapova, a 28-year-old Russian who is one of the world’s most visible sports figures, is by far the most prominent athlete to be barred for meldonium, a drug originally developed in Latvia for heart patients that aids blood flow and is not approved for sale in the United States.

Tiafoe takes out Fritz.

Really enjoyed Harrison's match. I think because the tour is becoming so predictable at the top, I enjoy watching two guys fight to the death for a first round win in a big tournament like this. Lajovic is a great shotmaker, but Ryan served well and played some great defense in the second set tiebreak to win.

Is Harrison about 23 or 24 now? I remember him being around the same age as me, but thought he was a little younger. He's picked up some great wins this season. Would've liked to see Fritz take out Tiafoe, but looks like they battled. Caught a little bit of the Rubin/Rampras replay this morning before I left for work.

Rubin kind of annoyed me at first, but I began to respect his fight as that match went on. But, good for old man Rampras. pride87 sometimes gives us insider info from Harrison. There was an insane brunette in what looked to be his posse. Nicely done by Ryan if that is what he is tapping. He just needs to stay injury free and I think he can make a move into the top 30 like Sock.

Wonder if Ryan will make them tuck their shirts in when they are young. We used to mess with him so much

Tiafoe had match points with Goffin serving at 4-5 in the third. Goffin was just clutch. Tiafoe basically has Kyrgios groundstrokes with better mental makeup. Tiafoe and Goffin both received garbage time violations in the third. Goffin got a bit rattled and double faulted twice right after it. Tiafoe didn't even bat an eyelash. I didn't realize he got the violation until they talked about how well he handled it a point or two later. Tiafoe's serve is going to need some work.

Verdasco/Nadal v the Bryan Bros was awesome. Verdasco hit an easy forehand sitter into the stands to go down 8-3 in the superbreaker. Rafa patted him on the back and willed them back to 8-8, but double faulted, then just missed on a forehand on match point.

Seeing Mike Tyson there was bizarre. He must be Larry Ellison's friend because Ellison had a bunch of famous people near him. I appreciate that he has pumped tens of millions of dollars into this tournament, but he seems like a creepy fanboy.
