The 9ers are absolutely stacked.
I can only assume that the 3rd round pick of a CB means we must have a good feeling about getting Abe back (Maybe Freeny?).
I guess the FO figures Samuel is done after this year (not sure what his contract is) and they want to try and lock down the 2 future starters for years to come with Decoud/Moore. Seems like a backward way of working though imo since games are won at the LOS. Doesn't matter who you stick out there at CB if you can't get a passrush.

I think you guys got a solid CB in Alford. Southeastern LA is about 15 minutes from my house and I've heard nothing, but good things about him for the last year. A lot of local people were hoping the Saints would grab him late.
Since Saints Talk is 80% unbearable right now, what are you UGA fans opinions on Jenkins? Does he use his weight to an advantage or is he just a big slob that gets in the way?

Character wise, Jenkins is a good guy. Not the brightest, but you don't have to be at DT. Made himself visible around downtown Athens in his two years, but never saw him overly intoxicated or even actually drink anything a single time.
Came in way out of shape from JUCO (didn't make it through his first practice if I recall correctly) but really was a crucial piece of Grantham's rejuvenation of the D because he was a true 3-4 NT. Really came on toward the end of '11. '12 was a flat out disappointment but he did use his weight and strength to dominate at times, while getting pushed around by the more talented guys like Warford at UK and the entire
Bama OL.
In his defense, he was playing for a disgruntled DL coach with a foot out the door. He was asked to learn DE as well due to injuries. He had a concussion early in the Bama game which I believe he blames for his bowl game ineligibility as well. Most importantly, he played a TON of snaps for us this year due to lack of trusted DL depth. He's a 2 down guy, only a 3 down guy if he's rotating with another guy occasionally. He was ALWAYS on the field for us.
Most importantly, i don't think he's nearly reached his potential yet. Played high school in Connecticut, JUCO, and finally SEC competition with a total of 1 offseason in this type of S&C program between his two years at UGA. Could lose some weight and become even more athletic or gain some strength and be a wall.
Unfortunately, I like the pick for you frickers in your new 3-4 scheme. Good value for a potential starter at a CRUCIAL position for this D. You can't run it without one commanding attention and freeing up your ILBs. Oh, and you should have taken Jarvis in the 1st round and all that shite.

As for our selection of 2 CBs, I'm guessing our line of thinking is that once we sign Abe back DE would be set for a one year run with Abe, Osi, and Beirmann,
I'm also guessing we feel good about DT since we have 3 who will be free agents after 2013. Babs is playing for his final contract. Peters is playing for his first non-rookie contract. Jerry is playing for his job. That'll probably be the most improved unit this year. We'll sign at least 1 if not 2 back if I had to guess.
Given the guys available when we picked, I would have gone with Ogletree, Blidi Wreh/Wilson, Brandon Williams, and
drafted a CB late, but I'm not disappointed so far. We instantly got more talented and much more athletic on D.
I'm too scared to predict anything today, everything so far has been wrong. Definitely a few guys still out there I'd be satisfied with. A ton of interesting SEC guys left. Washington, Rambo, and Commings for UGA, Faulk for LSU, Jones, Johnson, and Williams for Bama, Lattimore and Sanders for SC, Swope for A&M, etc.

NFL Network, if you have it. I wouldn't even bother watching ESPN at all
I like Jesse here. We could put him anywhere on the D Line and he'd be solid. He was once projected as a 1st Rounder, so he does have talent

Thankfully the 49ers pick after us in this round

No I'm watching NFL Network...it's the draft that's behind...all these picks are in and they grabass around and don't announce em...like on NFLN right now they're about to announce the Bengals pick
Bengals take porter, then redskins take thomas, then vikings take hodges, then colts take holmes, then packers take tretter, then seahawks take harper, then texans take williams
and the Packers are really on the clock...we're up in 2
