How do they decide who runs out of which gate? I'd guess its some type of seeding process, but thats just a guess...What gates are considered to be best to run out of?

Just out of courisity, does anyone know how many OTBs there are in La? I know the one on Port Allain and Louisiana an Evangeline downs. There is a track in North La right?

On Wednesday before the race they do drawing that is random. Two dudes sit at a table and they draw a number and then whatever horse is next on the list gets that spot.

Draw order out of hat then owner picks his post, some horses run better in certain spots so one spot isn't particularly universally better.
