Do any of you read Horse Player magazine? A good friend of mine guest writes for them from time to time.

Street sense "may" have had a little extra help on derby day.

Not saying he did.

Where have you been for all of our horse talks? Nice to have another person around who knows something
I think the euros are acting like spoiled children. They know the policies. They should have shipped in early enough to allow for weather problems because it is fall in ky.

I get where you're coming from, but horses are not bred to be trained that way anymore.

that's not true at all

the same horses we bred, seem to have the ability to go over seas and do what we would think are miracles.

together, who won the grade 1 first lady at keeneland a week or so ago, ran in 3 graded stakes races in a month, on two continents. while she's an euro bred, all 4 of her grandparents are US breds. So you think, who is in the breeders cup class, last year ran in 3 grade 1 races in 10 days, and won 2 of them, came in 3rd (The Melbourne cup, a 2 mile race) in the other. hell this year, he's run in the arc the first Sunday in octobe ,the champions race on the 2nd Saturday (not even a 2 week turnaround) and he's running in the classic.. in America...3 weeks later.

the difference is our addiction to drugs that they don't have. Lasix for instances, is a dielectric, and horses will lose up to 30-40 pounds when it's given, and it takes a lot out of htem post race, and it takes longer to recover. But we are the only country that uses it. OUR horses have to have a month between races. Black Cavier (who runs tonight BTW going for 16 straight) is going to be running for the 4th time tonight i n a month and a half. she just won a race 2 weeks ago.

getting ready to head to l'ville.

do they keep this pace up from February to November?

didn't realize the drug had that much effect. that is quite obnoxious to see overseas horses running like we should over here.

safe travels. thanks for all your thoughts.

i'm with you on the lasix (much to the anger of the hubby, who is a trainer), but if you notice, almost all of the euros will be on lasix

i know it's so they can compete, but it still makes me laugh.

i'm very impressed with the connections of alpha for running their horse without lasix in the juvenile. kudos to them.

i also read in an article this week that motion gets a lot of bleeders sent to him from overseas so they can run here with the lasix.

So how pissed am I. Every year for the BC my dad and I watch and gamble together. Getting ready to head to his house and he calls and says he has tickets tomorrow so we won't be watching. Well my friends gf works for the BC and offered us press passes for the two days and I turned it down to hang out with my dad. No big deal right? Oh well my mom is going also and she was supposed to accompany my wife to the OM vs UK game tomorrow for my wife's birthday. So now I have to go and can't even watch the races. /rant

I mean if you have no plans after the race for a few months like if you are going to turn them out, it's not the biggest of deals.

now there are horses, like juddmonte sends all their "bleeders" to the US because we use lasix adn that's the point of lasix. Seanic blast, was sent here last year from australia because he was banned for a year to race there because he bleed twice. The point for the medicance is to stop bleeding. But some trainers (i.e all) adminstister it preemptively. Also, becuase it's a dillutric, the worry is it can help 'flush' the system, kinda like cranberry juice lol

i also read in an article this week that motion gets a lot of bleeders sent to him from overseas so they can run here with the lasix.

i own a few horses myself as well.

but before EVERY race lol

who is your husband?

at the track now on ipad (I refuse to wager at a teller, use my xpressbet account). changing F and M turf pick to Nahrain, changing Juvenille pick to Drill after kick gate.
