All the money spent on this new pool paid off. It's incredibly fast.
I've never understood how one pool can be faster than another pool...

Is sportscenter covering the olympics at all?

Temperature is one thing. Warm pools suck for speed. Colder is better. There's nothing worse than being in the middle of the race of a pool that's too warm and realizing that you don't have as much energy as you should.
Deeper pools have less waves. Also, this pool has special gutters that makes the waves smaller.

It seems like this pool is VERY shallow at the wall. The swimmers are standing up at the end.

I think it just needs to be deeper in the middle, not the ends.
But I'm no expert. I just swim in the pools, not design them.

They are hanging on the lane ropes or wall

I started swim team when I was four or five, but only in the summer, and later for my school's team. I was too lazy to swim year round.
