these bunker cams are sweet.
They are. Wouldn't work near as well in a normal bunker though. Wind picking up.

Phil stripes it right down fairway, should be in good shape for a possible Birdy.

The new rocks and fresh towels kept David in the sauna, ended up WD'ing.

That was tasty. Just a little more sauce.

"Aw, that late juice, I love that."
His face when he said that
They kept the shot a head shot because he undoubtedly had no pants on.

Darren Clarke's gum just fell out in the middle of his putting stroke. Faldo thought it was a tooth
Then he picks it up, stares at it, and casually tosses it back in his mouth. Not really a big deal but Faldo lost it when he did it

Let me preface this by saying I love the Open. It's always been my favorite major to watch. I love the gray skies, the wind, the tall bunkers of links golf. But is it fair? So much--at least Thursday and Friday since the leaders go out at the same time on the weekend--depends on something as arbitrary as your tee time. Some groups may get lucky and the course plays like 5,500. And the same day, others may have to play it like its 7,500. It's fun to watch, but do you think it's fair?
The thing I always loved about the U.S. Open is that not only are bad shots penalized, but good shots are rewarded. It's brutal, but it's fair. The British Open seems to lend itself to such random, arbitrary luck. You can stick a 9 iron pin high and still have it roll into an 8 ft bunker.
The argument I've always made was that it evens itself out. Not every round certainly, but not even every tournament I don't think like I used to. Maybe it evens out over a career

dear Lord, that's a lot of text for an in-game thread. My apologies, sirs.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the championship and have watched every minute. But I really hating this course, though. I can't really think of a course I dislike more.

We need to pour one out for one of ours baw. He's moved up to that great sauna in the sky where the rocks are always hot...the towels dry and the ladle is made of gold. He got too excited over Stenson's round and well...he's not with us anymore.

Who in the world are you talking about?

Like I said, it's my favorite tournament to watch. But I think the most important part of a course is that it rewards good shots. These links courses don't always do that. I can see why some players get really frustrated and how some of the old timers used to not even bother going.

I can't tell if your crazy arse is being serious or not

He's gone baw. Not with us.

imo, there really aren't that many unlucky bounces in links golf, relative to other types of courses ... if you flirt with a bunker, you might go in it ... don't wanna go in it, don't hit near it - see Phil's tee shot yesterday at 18 ... most good shots are rewarded, same as at any other type course ... there's some random bad luck with weather, obviously, but that's part of the appeal, to me, of links golf, be it bad luck from a bounce or bad luck from a tee time ... you have to adjust your mental game and accept it ...

It's more the course for me than the weather. Different weather occurs many times in tourneys each year.
I really hate these bunkers, though. If they're wet, the ball rolls to the center, like every other course I've ever seen in my life. When dry, they plug 3 inches from the walls. That's ridiculous. The most charming aspect of the course, #8, is a joke IMO. I don't like how severe the penalty is if you go in a bunker.
#11 is an amazing hole, though.
Gary Lindmark is my hero.
