Derek Gee stats.

Crazy to think the dude who was dominating the TDF when I started watching is not even on the podium at this year’s tour at his peak

easily attributable to the use of 28mm tires vs 20mm tires, aero socks, and disc brakes ;- )

At the end of a TT when you should have had the last pedal stroke across the line be the last one you had to give

This guy races.

I remember coaches and teammates always saying if you're not puking your guts out at the end of a time trial you didn't go hard enough. There should be nothing left in the tank - it is about "emptying the cup".

Looking back at my time trial and cyclocross races, they were all in Zone 4 and my average HR was like 172 and max 178. That Pogi demolished Jonas and Remco seemingly without breaking a sweat is bananas...was he in Zone 2 the whole time?

Not sure what caused that - over the span of about a 1km he adds like 30s on them and then loses it all when he starts backing off (I guess). Maybe in that span the other two were at the limit and fading fast?

I believe it’s just an error

I am always soaked in sweat (even in the spring and fall), hair matted to my head, out of context I have the general "I need immediate medical assistance" look, and I am sporting that viscous ring of goo on my lips that inevitably winds up on my jersey sleeves a minute or so after I finish.

Did anyone see that Pog switched to 165mm cranks? I watched a YT video that sung the virtues. I used long cranks 172.5/175 in my younger days and switched to 170s when I turned 40 and worked on increasing my cadence but this has me intrigued. My wife uses 165mm, I am sure we have a crank or two of hers laying around, I may throw it on a bike and test it out.

Im about 5'9" and I started using 165 last year. It decreases your hip angle at the top of the pedal stroke. Allows me to be in a more aggressive position. I love the shorter cranks.
