Heard several stories like that. Never have a huge chunk of your net worth in any one stock .

Fortunately, I think a lot of Gen-X and Millennials are smart enough not to do this. We've seen how loyal/stable corporations are. A bunch of MBAs and JDs playing the short game who will cut your arse at the drop of a hat to make numbers - why would you tie a significant portion of your retirement (a 30-40 year time line) to that?
I worked for some former Arthur Andersen auditors who started their own firm. They were all pretty junior back then, but it was kind of like asking grandpa to tell war horror stories, you just knew you weren't supposed to do it, but every now and then they'd tell some Wolf of Wall Street shite when they were tipsy.
