My grandfather was a WW2 vet. Can I join USAA ? Is it worth the effort?

I had them for truck insurance. State Farm was $40 cheaper with lower deductibles

I think it's your immediate family that qualifies you. My dad was a vet so I'm a member. I have a stock trading account there.

I am a member but I can tell you they are not the best at everything. Mortgage being one of them. Get a you an independent mortgage broker and have him find the best deal for you. I do use them for banking and investments.

I just checked. they are advertising 3.75% with 1.25 points, you can find that rate without points right now.

Car insurance lost it’s advantage when they let the enlisted in. Banking is available to the general public. Love it. Haven’t seen the inside of a bank since 1991.

Insurance prices aren't the best, but service is usually good. Only time I was not happy with how I was being treated, I told them and they were quick to make it right.

It has to be a 1st degree family member. My grandfather was a WWII vet. Before he passed, my mother joined. I got an account after she joined.
