So last week it was "the CEO has to go!".

This week it's "the CEO is a great guy, strong leader".

And now it's being reported we, the taxpayers, are buying a stake of Intel?

Means of production, government...blah blah blah

On some level it makes sense, INTC is the only American semiconductor manufacturer left.

Everyone else is fabless and depends on TSMC.

I've read they have to use the proceeds to expand and modernize in the U.S.

I went ahead and snagged 500 shares.the rumor seems to be government staking funds for a plant in Ohio which has faced considerable delays due to Intel’s ineptitude. Worst case, short term play. Best case, we get an announcement ground is being broken and it becomes a decent long term hold.

The new CEO is apparently highly regarded. If this is what he got out of the meeting with Trump on Monday, seems to back up his reputation.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a horrible idea but I can see where there’s at least a modicum of national security in play.
