Don’t understand most of the stock\banking terms but love the movie. I spent hours reading about the crash, just to realize we did nothing to prevent history from repeating.

Just watched for the first time. Pretty sad and entertaining. One of the only roles I loved Ryan Gossling in.
I really don’t remember much about those times. I was a few years out of college and living in Austin so didn’t feel affected. Not much at that point in my 401k. I remember a couple people on my streets houses got foreclosed. One guy lived almost a year in his without paying a mortgage.

I was in the biz at the time. Mortgage underwriters at my company resisted that crap as they knew what it was. However, senior management said investors were buying the hell out of it so underwrite it.
