Up to how much can you make without reporting it ?

You have to report all income.

Supposedly.
Deal in cash. No receipts. Don't deposit it. Work it into your expenses so you're paying more bills with cash instead of with your reported income.

Are you sure you posed your question correctly?

Well yeah, I assumed she meant legally.

Probably, but you'll never get anywhere with that mindset.

if you're single, the answer is up to around $9400 I believe
that's the standard plus the personal exemption
ETA: unless it's self-employed income

You still have to include it on your 1040 you just do not have to pay federal taxes on it.

I don't think that's necessarily correct unless of course you want to get a refund

Correct.
I'm assuming the OP was asking how much money they had to make to be exempt from filing. Lots of variables.
In it's simplest form, if you aren't self employeed, federal tax was not withheld from your wages, and there is no other claimable income, you don't need to file if you made less than $9,750 when filing single.

That is true, but you should make sure there isn't any withholding already on a W-2 or other form of non-self employment income or filing a return is usually worth getting the money back.
