Sysco Foods buys US Foods

8.4 billon including debt. Deal to close 3rd qtr. Huge for foodservice.

Maybe I'll get better service now. Had good experiences with Sysco. US Foods gets on my nerves.

dont count on it. give Sysco a virtual monopoly in that market - thats rarely, if ever - a good thing.

Performance Food Group, Rehinhart, Gordon Food Service & Jetro Holdings are all strong competitors to just name a few off of the top of my head.

They aren't strong competitors in NOLA. Sysco owns this market. Has for many many years.

Actually pretty small but loved their service. We were their biggest account until we switched to US Foods. I received an email from them today saying this should all be completed by the 3rd quarter of next year.

I once delivered for US FOODS(over a decade ago). Was it driver ,delivery time or product issues that you had with USFOODS?
