I don't understand how people don't inherently believe that politics and economics are tied together. It's the money talk board and people in this thread are acting like central banking isn't a HUGE political game, especially international banking.

Soros this week at Davos saying we're on the brink of WW3 and Zelensky asking for maximum punishment of Russia. You think that rhetoric has no effect on financial markets anywhere? Of course, it might not be a big hit the US market today, but what about when things do hit home? The stock market declined over 7 percent on 9/11. The market jumped significantly after the rounds of stiumulus money during covid. Is that political? Different events can impact a market in different ways and the biggest ones usually blindside people.

This is not your grandfathers America. We have politicians today who openly want America to not be excellent and to be more on par with other nations. We have economic stiffling that is designed to handicap us. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to charge the hell out of domestic companies for carbon emissions while overlooking severe pollution issues in Asia.

Money doesn't exist in a vacuum. Hell, it was the government who created our current monetary system and the laws the govern it.

So you’re suggesting that we need to elect a King of the World, since the POTUS can’t currently control conditions in other countries… that pretty much mirror our own.

Cool.

You're going to own nothing and be happy. This is literally what they have stated in a video.

Why would you worry about stocks and value? You won't be allowed to own them.

quote:

Our global economic system is broken. But we can replace the current picture of global upheaval, unsustainability, and uncertainty with one of an economy that works for all people, and the planet. First, we must eliminate rising income inequality within societies where productivity and wage growth has slowed. Second, we must reduce the dampening effect of monopoly market power wielded by large corporations on innovation and productivity gains. And finally, the short-sighted exploitation of natural resources that is corroding the environment and affecting the lives of many for the worse must end.

The debate over the causes of the broken economy—laissez-faire government, poorly managed globalization, the rise of technology in favor of the few, or yet another reason—is wide open. Stakeholder Capitalism: A Global Economy that Works for Progress, People and Planet argues convincingly that if we don't start with recognizing the true shape of our problems, our current system will continue to fail us. To help us see our challenges more clearly, Schwab—the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum—looks for the real causes of our system's shortcomings, and for solutions in best practices from around the world in places as diverse as China, Denmark, Ethiopia, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Singapore. And in doing so, Schwab finds emerging examples of new ways of doing things that provide grounds for hope

What the hell do you think your life will look like under a forced zero carbon emissions policy? They straight up admit they want to enable 3rd party control of HVAC and appliance usage - and in some places they already have achieved this. Explore the WEF site for a while you'll see how far their lunacy extends once you look past the pretty ideas.

Pretending this shite doesn't exist just marks you as a member of the peasant class. People are going to be fleeing to fricking mexico to enjoy the simple freedoms they once had here, mark my words.

I’m suggesting we elect congressmen and a president who tell the rest of the world to frick itself and do these 5 things:

Close and secure our border
Energy independence
End foreign wars and aid
Rebuild American manufacturing to massively lessen our reliance on foreign countries
End the welfare states

America is big enough with enough people and resources that we should be a flourishing country self reliant in pretty much all things and instead we’re a bloated and pathetic shell of a once great nation full of entitled babies stuck in a state of arrested development suckling at the teat of a ravenous wolf of a government that has a gluttonous appetite for blood and power.
