Starting a new job next week and am a trying to understand state income tax.
If I live in LA and work remote for a company in Arizona which state would I pay taxes to. Looks like Arizona has 2.5% flat tax rate.

You will pay Louisiana income taxes. I've been working remotely for out of state companies since 2019 and have always had to pay Louisiana state income taxes.

On some returns (I haven't seen LA's in 20 years, but it is on other states,) they will ask you about your presence while income was being earned. That almost always means where you physically were. NY and others in the Northeast get very particular, but just in case you get asked by TaxCut or TurboTax next year.

You are a Louisiana resident and huh age going to owe LA tax on all forms of income.
Some states are funny about remote workers and will also tax them based on location of employer. If that happens you will file on both states and get a credit against LA tax

Was going to say this. If your employer does not have an office in LA, there is a fairly good chance they will be withholding AZ State income taxes from your paystubs. You would then need to file both AZ & LA State tax returns to get a credit for the taxes paid to AZ.
