Has anyone had experience with this? It seems pretty low risk for the consignment dealer-
What fee structures should i expect here?
Anything over 'x' amount, they keep?
Flat rate % of total price?
Flat rate dollar amount?
Thanks

Just adding some info for anyone who searches this in the future

Called a local guy. Cost of $250 up front for cleaning, pics, etc. Then flat rate of 1,000 at sale. Not a terrible deal in my opinion.

Only thing I’d add is to check with your insurance carrier first, especially if it’s a high performance or luxury car. A dealer wanted me to put my car on his lot under consignment for “window dressing”, as he called it. My insurance agent said the car would still be covered, but if anything happened, it would be my policy that would be at risk. Some dealers may carry the risk, but make sure up front.

It can be a great alternative to selling it yourself or losing your butt on a trade-in. Just be aware of the liability risks.
