Looking for advice from anyone who has a self directed IRA. I’m interested in opening one for investing outside the market, mainly real estate. The trouble I’m having is that there are many large custodians that appear reputable, but I don’t see any of them in the IRS list of non-bank custodians. IRS nonbank trustees and custodians

Any advice on custodians you have experience with would be appreciated.

Give me a few days. I may know some people that have them so I can see who they use.

I've been having one since 2018 and I use it strictly as a debt vehicle. I make loans to real estate investors and I take collateral to secure the loan. It's been working out really well for me. I'm up 191% since July 2018.

There are a ton of companies out there that do it. When I was doing my research initially, I was just comparing fees. I haven't looked back since 2018 so I'm not sure what others are charging now. I use iPlanGroup out of Ohio. I'm located in BR btw.
