I posted this another thread but does anyone own spirit? On paper they look like a great buy but for some reason they are at a low point. Any reason why besides their labor issues?

I want to pull the trigger but I can't figure out what's wrong with them.

They started charging convenience fees to purchasing shareholders.

Well done. I've actually flown on them several times and I've never had any issues. as long as you understand what they charge for it's pretty easy to keep your fare low. It's the people that go on with a heavy checked bag and 2 large carry ons that always complain about the fees.

Actually to rephrase.....poor people looking to save a buck complain about the fees....I sometimes find flights from houston to nola(an hr flight) for 400 dollars cheaper than united or southwest or american....I pick the "first class seat" pay for my bag and save 200 bucks on the flight. I take the savings from the flight and buy a steak and a bottle of wine at Mr. Johns every time.

.

The loudest complaint I have heard was the realization that the fees count for each connection on the trip.

$400 LESS on a flight from Houston? Outside of recent events, why would you pay $400 at all?

I don't enjoy flying Spirt but I love having the low cost option. I got a $220 flight to New Orleans while the other carriers were $650.
