This was announced last night.
LINK

3% cash back on everything, first time a fee free* card is giving rewards that generous.

*I say fee free, but you have to be signed up for robinhood gold ($5/mo or $50/yr) to be able to have the c.c.

I'm already on gold, so this one seems like a no brainer to become the catch everything else card to replace my venture card, which would eliminate a $95 annual fee there with 2x miles on every purchase.

Robinhood also announced that they start to "match" every contribution to brokerage account by 1% which is pretty nuts. This on top of the 3% IRA match/rollover they are doing right now.

From what I hear from people that work at Robinhood, they may not be around in three years, but hey at least we all will get to enjoy the ride. Use that cash back quickly.

If something sounds too good to be true it usually is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Robinhood turns out to be a scam. Robinhood already scammed investors during the GameStop fiasco.

I’m not a fan of Robin Hood. I’m not sure if this is normal with all rewards cards but this disclaimer is enough to keep me away.

Robinhood may make changes to the Rewards Program (including termination of the Rewards Program) or change the terms of this agreement at any time. For example, Robinhood may: Add new terms or delete terms Change how you earn points, or how many points you can earn for eligible purchases Change how you redeem points Change what you can get with your points Impose caps and/or fees on earning and/or using points Robinhood may not always provide notice when it changes what you can get with your points or how your points can be redeemed. You understand and agree that Robinhood can make these changes at any time. You can see what you currently can get with your points when you visit the “Rewards” tab in the Robinhood Credit Card mobile app. Future availability of certain aspects of the Rewards Program, including specific Rewards Merchants and redemption items, is not guaranteed. Robinhood will provide at least 45 days notice if we cancel the Rewards Program. If we terminate the program, you will have 90 days from the date of the notice to redeem your Points. Points which are

All credit card companies change things up time to time. Nothing really new there.

do they all state that they can cancel the rewards program at any time with a 45 day notice?

I'm sure many state something similar, and it says you have 3 months to redeem points if that were to happen which is a really long time. It's just cash back, not sure why anyone would be worried about that. I redeem cash back every month on those cards I have, why horde them? Not sure why that would be a worrying factor for anyone. you need more than 90 days to redeem straight cash back if given a notice they are canceling the card/rewards?

My contacts have only been there 3-5 years, but lots of issues with operations, major compliance challenges, overly optimistic revenue forecasts while they continue to struggle with expense side.

I don’t follow or invest in RobinHood, so this might by noise instead of news.

I’ve dabbled in it for a few years. Not sure if I should have an exit strategy in place at this point.
