Question regarding the new Chinese regulations. It would seem that they are trying to force all cryptos funded by ICOs to return the funds back to the participants. Wouldn't this also include NEO since it was initially funded by an ICO? If so, I see this as a rather large stumbling block more so than new ICOs not being allowed. Does this not pretty much kill the platform? Obviously, the ones who bought on the exchanges are screwed. Well pretty much everyone if this is the case.

NEO was set up to DIGITISE ASSETS and create a smart contracts- ICOs were just ONE part of what the smart contracts can do.. guess what NEO already exists, and via OnChain and IdentityChain and LawChain also already up and running (and have backing of Fosun via the Shaghai Fund umbrella corp) They will allow ICOs again in the future - with VERY specific regulations..and GUESS WHO wil lbe perfectly positioned when the time comes. In the mean time ICOS can still continue even on NEO- (redpulse next weekend) they are just closed to Chinese (and Americans) on paper at least. Also the invoice factoring, asset digitisation, smart contracts, and blockchain are 100% not impacted by this latest ICO tightening. not at all - you do get that ICOs are just fundraising right? and thats NOT what NEO was set up for. So it is not fatal , not even in the slightest. Get your facts straight or you are just spreading uninformed FUD
quote:.
The main points are: 1. Token sales are not recognized by the PBC as an official channel of fund raising. As such, all cryptocurrency trading related activities are deemed as illegal until further notice.
Upon this report, all persons or cooperations are to stop all activities involving token sales. Any token sales that are completed prior or ongoing to this report, the team is to make arrangements to return all amounts to the investors. Any offenders will be reprimanded by relevant department of the government.
Upon this report, ALL cryptocurrency trading/ICO funding sites within China are to stop their operations till further notice. The relevant department of the government will stop ISPs from serving traffic to such sites should these remain operational despite this notice.
All financial and non-banking companies are not to start ICO fund raising campaigns.
Chinese investors are reminded to exercise caution when trading with cryptocurrency.
All financial related companies are to understand the government strategy.
Now, as what this report has said - All Cryptocurrency-related operations within China are to be stopped. If you have been paying attention to Chinese cryptocurrency space or Chinese ICOs, they already have heard of such news way before. That is why it is more operationally economical to stop their ICOs now than go through it and get slammed with this.
What is not said in the article is by when. So there is a certain grace period for these CC firms in China to wind down their operations.
IMHO, 1. The Central Government is stepping in to establish rules and regulations surrounding ICOs and cryptocurrency trading. 2. Cryptocurrency trading companies in China will be moving their operations overseas instead. 3. Coins originating from China will be looking to get their coins listed on international exchanges

I take comments with a grain of salt. Everyone(the herd) is scattering like roaches and selling because they read China banned all ICOs and don't take the time to see what is actually going on. The herd isn't smart money.
Regulation is needed. This wild west style situation with the ICOs is out of control.

RIP NEO. Get out while you can!! I'm guessing once America wakes up and hears the news about China banning ICOs NEO will plummet even more.
Nah. I'll buy all the way down. I liked Neo at $30. I like them even more at $15 dollars. The company is solid with some of the brightest minds in the crypto world at the top.

I guess one problem I kinda had with NEO from the start.
Why does the currency have value? Are they the best one that can do these smart contracts ATM, and if you wish to utilize them you need to hold and transact in NEO?

I just read this about Lisk
Lisk partnered with Microsoft to integrate Lisk into its Azure Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) program?—?meaning developers worldwide can develop, test, and deploy Lisk blockchain applications using Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform and infrastructure
I'm still very green so please excuse my ignorance but does the above statement mean much to you experienced speculators? I'm currently invested into Lisk and NEO. I plan to diversify a little more but will keep it to 3-4 currencies. Any thoughts on OMG as of now?

I just tried to initiate a wire transfer but I kind of don't know what to do. If I just ignore the transfer will it go away?

When tracking in Blockfolio what's the difference between the ETH/USD and the ETH/BTC?
Posted on 9/4/17 at 1:36 pm to CE Tiger
Yes. I'm pretty sure wires require you to notify the bank as well. If you haven't done this, nothing will happen
