Can you explain what you mean about BTC? I am still having issues with Kraken and depositing money. I found out there's a BTC ATM in town and I'm thinking of just going and buying some there so I can then buy ETH, etc. But should I be holding off from buying BTC?
What is everyone thinking on ETH, it's going to keep dropping or should I pick some up? I am thinking about getting Golem as well. Has anyone heard of Sonm and Civic? A friend said he picked some of that up.
I wouldn't use the ATM. I think some poster checked it out and the price was around $200 over the exchanges. BTC has been holding steady while ETH was fluctuating. I cashed out on Gemini waiting for ETH to come down some more, but also have some limit buys in around $2,500 for BTC. Whatever happens, I think BTC will remain the "safest" coin out there. My goal is to dollar cost average BTC and make big investments in ETH where possible. BTC is my long hold
I recently picked up Ark, Stratos, and ETC on bittrex with my screw around money. I started following Ryan Lye on youtube thanks to MrSmith and bought on his suggestions. I am up about 15% since this money in a crappy market.
I don't know anything about Sonm and Civic.

Lots of uncertainties but basically, a BTC civil war is going on with their scaling issues. SegWit v/s BU, hard/soft fork. Increase belligerence within the BTC communities with no backing down and no one knows what will happen exactly on Aug 1st.
The current downward pressure in cryptoworld is already directly related to this looming issue. It may all be uneventful but personally, I would bet on a larger crash especially if a hard fork occurs.

Anyone interested in selling me some iota since im in new york and cant get on bitfinex?
Or other suggestions to buying some? I like the idea of costless transactions.

I may not have a choice if shitty Kraken keeps screwing me. I was trying to buy ETH when it was $125 so they cost me thousands. I'll check the prices at it and if it's not too bad I may go for it. We'll see.

So BTC will possibly head back down but do you see it being "fixed" and coming back up? And around Aug/Sept is when someone above mentioned ETH going up because of a new platform or whatever so how are you playing BTC and ETH over the next few days/weeks?

@okalogjr How would it work to buy for you? Can it be transferred/sent to you if somebody purchased it for you. Will it even allow you to hold it in NY?

Yeah...no
Yeah... a stock market that is outpacing GDP growth by several times year over year with mediocre revenue growth is totally sustainable.

When there is a correction the riskier assets go to cash first. So i dont know about this.
I don't understand. BTC is digital gold, a hedge against inflation and financial turmoil. If the stock market finally has a significant correction then many people will flee to precious metals and cryptos. Investors won't sit on cash for long.

Bypass Bitfinex. Set up Iota light wallet and have someone purchase and transfer some Iotas from their wallet to yours.
My seed/password is stored away in a security lockbox and not to be seen again in 3 yrs.

Would send etherium or btc in exchange.
Owning iOTa isnt a problem. Bitfinex is disallowed in new york cause they wouldn't register or pay the state for a license like coinbase gdax did.

BTC is digital gold
BTC is extremely volatile compared to gold. If you buy BTC today you have something thats worth between 2900 and 2100 dollars over the last month.
Gold isnt traded like cryptocurrency either its more of a long trusted asset. Lots of people trading bitcoin daily to weekly.
Gold is also intrinsically valuable for jewlery and such where as BTC is a fiat currency

where as BTC is a fiat currency
It is a store of value and a growing worldwide medium of exchange. It has less complications than hauling gold around to buy a Dell computer or a meal at a Chinese restaurant.
In fact, for the first time ever as governments go broke, we have an alternative. And the transition is just starting.
Enjoy the ride.

Easily could've been asia dumping before going to sleep. I feel china, korea, japan are like 12-14 hoursish ahead of y'all in Louisiana. People sleep, but crypto markets don't.
