The price action on bitcoin feels like shite the last few days. Every short term rally has sold off quickly. The TA people said closing above 100k for the first time yesterday was a big deal so we’ll see.

Just bought a stack of BITX in my Roth when Bitcoin dipped down to $97.8K. I will sell it when Bitcoin gets above $100K, recover my cash and put the gains in more BITO shares. The recovery could be later today or days from now, but I will gain some more BITO shares. I've done these volatility trades numerous times this year. I prefer Bitcoin to go straight up, but I'm not going to miss out on taking advantage of these price swings.

I have about 10k on Coinbase but the max it says I can transfer is only like $200. Seems odd.

I have a cold wallet with more but was wanting to move the rest there.

Anyone know why?

How accurate and/or worthwhile is the metric which shows the ratio of buys to sells/swaps?

If I’m seeing a coin that is consistently 70-80% buy vs 30-20 sell doesn’t it stand to figure that the price will go up?

Sometimes I see massive drops in price even though there never seem to be more people selling/swapping?

Can anyone help me understand how this works and if it’s even worth looking at?

Thanks!

10,000 people buying $20 worth will not keep the price up if one person sells $10M worth.

Price goes down.

There are also people buying $1B at a time. Either way, you’re not wrong that in the aggregate there is evidently more interest in selling than buying at the current moment. That’s why I call bs that there’s any serious national state money at the table yet.

Still, OTC coins come from people selling the same way as exchange coins. Who knows. Maybe some smaller countries are getting more involved but I think any country with a major money printer would be hard to miss.

So does BTC touch $115k this week or is dropping hard?

Meh. Just normal crypto chop. Go up and wipe out shorts. Drop and wipe out longs. Rinse. Repeat.

BlackRock’s ETF bought 4100 coins into the dip today. The ETFs and Saylor both accelerated their buying tremendously right around the election and I honestly don’t know how much longer the market can handle that action before there is a violent price adjustment.

There’s not THAT much bitcoin. When you have two or three parties buying 30k-50k/week, you’re going to see something “break” before long. I’m more than a little suspicious when I see the huge dips and immediate recoveries like we’ve seen the last two weeks. These are manipulated events.
