Lou Pai that may be, bioland is littered with junk of course, but if you choose to short the best data ever seen in the space combined with significant cash off the back of 2 offerings then dont cry when you go broke off the name. Bluebird has a better chance of being acquired for $300-500/share next year than it does of going to $75 lmao you clearly have never shorted a quality biotech. Let me tell you something since you're clearly misinformed, when the market bids up a valuation to nearly $5B and the company has no product or revenue, you need to not short it bc thats called RESPECT, so although its debatable whether you have made money shorting biotechs, I personally makes alot shorting bioturds PTCT and PBYI currently are my top shorts, I personally invite you to short this name that you clearly think is a short bc Im obviously very mistaken.
Now if its a silly short for like $10 fine that may hit, the overall tape is weak, but no way a short it and forget scenario in this name pays you, more than likely you get smoked

Long term short? I have never heard of such a thing.

lt, do you hang around the more speculative bios, or simply the more established?
ever read up on RXII?
eta: look at EBIO, that must have been a fun ride.

My names aren't as speculative as you think just bc they don't have revenues doesn't mean the science isn't legit. I don't invest in junk, I invest in high probabilities of success and the names I laid out offer that. Cemp and ttph are antibiotics for goodness sake nobody is gonna croak on either trial. Rtrx is a monopoly on thiola and their ceo just guided to 25% more revenues bc of more thiola patients. I could go on and on but as a former orphan drug discoverer I feel I have a pretty good scope of what is and is not junk but of course the message board tough guys are out and obviously I can't prove doubters wrong till a few of the ones I named start getting acquired and whatnot so im not worried they can short them all at will and I'll be here to troll one buyout after another

Dude ebio is a bioturd its like mnkd a total piece of junk it's market cap is sub $100m I don't invest in junk that small 99% are failures rarely you'll find one like pirs with anticalins or afmd or tril working on some celg end points that's are legit and they're ok to invest in. I know nothing about ebio and it's never crossed my radar so more than likely it's just junk but can it double? Sure why not pump and dumps happen a lot. Bioland is dangerous if you don't whats what

Serious question:
When do you sleep?
When we were bantering yesterday it was around 11:00 pm central time, and we went until 3:00 or so off and on in the morning. Then you were back at it from about 7:30am off and on until now.
What timezone do you live in?

You obviously don't really love science if you aren't willing to deprive yourself of sleep to talk about it.

Im in Cambridge the biotech capital of America, like I said I worked at a company up here that was acquired recently and I now just trade on my own for the last year or so. I don't sleep much few hours a night really

Great area. I have some friends that did their post-docs at Wyss that I would visit on long weekends.

their gene editing platform might be the future much like CRISPR
How does their approach compare to CRISPR companies like Editas/Intellia?
I know the gene editing IP is a little murky at the moment, with several variations just getting through the USPTO, and most of the technology sits with privately held companies. I bet big pharma is watching to see which one works before really jumping in.

man there are numerous gene editing approaches you got the viral vectors and also the zinc finger editing that sgmo is doing. You almost have to look at each disease because you have to take into consideration where the gene of interest is located. Ie look at cldn and aavl, most likely failed because the site of action is difficult to get on target whereas blue chose a great target with a location that's easy to hit.
Posted on 8/13/15 at 9:03 am to lsutraderman
By GOI location do you mean target tissue to affect a disease state or chromosomal location?
Posted on 8/13/15 at 9:11 am to Sigma
Target tissue. So for example aavl gotta do a retinal injection. Not easy. Cldn, the blood flow in the heart carries the vector away. Difficult target. Bluebird has an ideal target, but all these clowns commenting in here have no idea what you and I are discussing yet choose to comment

Well it's a biotech thread no need for people who have nothing important to say to comment, do you see the last few comments I made in reply to a serious question, do you have any insights on that matter? If not why comment? I don't go in the energy guys threads commenting on nat gas and oil numbers.
Posted on 8/13/15 at 9:33 am to Korkstand
but he's the smartest guy on here
Posted on 8/13/15 at 9:38 am to Tiger in Austin
I can't say that with certainty but judging by the majority of comments in this thread Id definitely say I'm in the upper echelon of td posters intellectually. Anyways now that I'm done trolling can the science only guys please comment here, we had a good talkinn going about vectors and targets and you guys blitzkrieged the thread again

What is there to say since you have all the answers?
