The main issue is you’re saving less than 1k a month and want a kid. Please rate until you’re at at least 2k a month into savings. Having a kid can cost 0-24000 depending on your insurance. And then with day care, diapers, and paying more each month for medical for the kid your be lucky for under 1k a month. So if you are having trouble now your be in trouble financially

Best thing I ever did was get rid of the car notes and never finance a car ever again.
Buying a 10 year old car saves you on insurance and taxes.
My insurance is about $50 a month and it only costs $70 to renew my tag every year and I live in one of the most expensive states to live in. (I've got 2 vehicles: a 2013 Toyota Corolla and a 2002 4Runner)
Oh yeah and no car notes.
Without car notes, you'll be able save money like crazy. Get a AAA subscription just in case your used car craps out when you're far from home.
When you save that kind of money every month emergencies stop happening anyways.
If you guys are making that kind of money, you should easily be saving around $3k a month or more.
At any rate, it still sounds like you guys are doing very well!
