Items needed when trading in a vehicle

It has been so long since I've traded a vehicle in, I'm not entirely sure what I need to do...
Vehicle is paid off, and I am in possession of the title. It is registered to my wife and I. Only I will be picking up the new vehicle, wife won't be present. Does she need to sign the title?
Do I need to do anything with the license plate?

Both probably needs to sign but only you need to be present. They will probably take the license plates off and give them to you.

I’d advise selling it private party or to a direct outlet vs letting a stealership manipulate and play games.

I believe in most cases it’s how the names read on the title.
If it’s listed as you AND your wife you probably both need to sign it.
If it listed as you OR your wife it’s just one of you needs to sign it

How are the husband and wife's name stated on the title?
Husband AND wife - Both parties have to sign the title
Husband OR wife - Only one party needs to sign title
I would have both owners sign the title even if it says OR

Most dealerships have you sign a limited power of attorney for the trade in, you don't even have to sign the title then, just the POA.

Title says AND - not worried about the signature. Just wanted to make sure she didn't need to be present when trading it in.
