I'll be beginning prep work for the CPA Exam in the next few months...

Any advice or tips? Is Becker basically the gold standard of study materials? Which section would you reccomend starting with? How many study hours did you dedicate to each section?
Thanks.

Study hard and do review problems.
I found AUD and BEC to be the two easiest. I found FAR and REG to be the most difficult.
Over prepare. I studied at night after work. I took everything over a 5 month period. I passed all four.
YOU CAN DO IT!

Basically planning to only work part time this fall so that I can get a good bit knocked out and be able to study during peak hours instead of at night when I'm half asleep
Would you start with the hardest one or ease into it with one of the easier sections?

I look at another71.com all the time. You would be surprised at people who start with what are deemed the hardest (FAR and REG) and then get caught up with...say AUD...and end up losing credit.
I passed AUD to start the clock (self-motivation)...then relocated with my company and moved states. I slacked off and just got an email telling me my AUD credit expires 12/10. NOW I am motivated.
I've looked at CPA Ninja..Gleim...etc. etc. But Becker is by far the industry leader I believe and that is who I use ($1100 per section though...). Best of luck. I'm taking BEC Thursday.

Didn't have that option when I took it. We had to take the whole damn thing together.

When I took it we had to walk a mile in the snow, uphill, first.
