I 100% handle the finances, not because she's bad with money, or don't trust her, but just because. Honestly, there's really no specific reason. When I was deployed for 6 months, she took over and handled all the finances, with no problems, everything ran smoothly. When I returned, I took it over again. We've been married 10 years.

who is more reliable?

In my marriage I handle all the financial stuff, my wife bless her heart can sometimes not see the bigger picture when it comes to paying the bills over other things.

Why not both?
Both always seemed most prudent to me assuming a viable relationship. If something happens to one partner, the other is familiar enough with finances to continue. Obviously helps if both are capable and interested though.

We both pay bills together, but when it comes to the savings and retirement funds, I take care of that.

Both the wife and I work. I make more but have no problem admitting she is more organized than I am so I let her control the finances. Been this way for 8 yrs now.
