Bump, anyone recommend another company over another? I have car and renters insurance through Progressive right now and premium is around $1200 with $500 deductible for house above 200k. My fiancée is eligible for USAA and waiting on a quote from them. Should I shop around some more?

It's hard to say. Different people are going to have different experiences with different companies. Just beacuse your friend doesn't get a good rate with company x, it doesn't necessairly mean that your rate will also be high. Too many variables in play. This goes beyond the companies loss experience and costs.
In my opinion, the same can also be said for claims service. So much depends on your expectations. Did they put you back to where you were prior to the loss? Was the company quick about it? Were they easy to work with regarding supplemental estimates?
For my money, I'm looking for financial stability and convenience (Can I get in touch with them when I need to?)
I'd start with the big 4
State Farm + (My wife had a good claims experience)
All State = No personal experience with them.
Progressive = Has other companies do the home and renters, but still gives the discounts. (I personally had a positive claims experience)
GEICO = I'm not sure about their home and renters. Never had a claim with them either.
USAA = great service, but limited to a nich market
Back to the OP, I'm sure all of these companies give multi-policy discounts for combining home and auto. This is a good way to save.
