ust went on WSB and they all still buying and holding
Someone bought $2 million in $20 calls yesterday.
There are 344 million short shares set to expire today and tomorrow.
Today, Mark Cuban said to buy and hold.
Those are facts.
After talking to a friend that is a broker for Merrill Lynch, I'm still very optimistic. Regardless if the short squeeze happens or not, AMC is not a bad investment. Movies will come back. Theaters will re-open.

If that's your position, I don't see why you wouldn't prefer Cinemark. More of a capital buffer.

@greygoose, agreed if there is no squeeze in the coming week I'm holding long as AMC will eventually rise up to a level to take profits from. Will it be nice if this thing still takes off? Absolutely, but if not I'll just hang on to it.

Theaters were a dying business before COVID.

i just dont understand why so many people yesterday and last friday were saying Thursday of this week would be where some happenings would occur.
What changed from that narrative?
What changed from that narrative?

Who is “so many people”?
The WSB posters who proudly claim that they’re retards?

Because coupled with everything else mentioned in his post AMC is better play. But that severely impacts your retort.

After this BS lockdown is over and new movies are released there will be plenty of people wanting to get out of the house to see a movie.

I jumped in with house money just to support the new movement.
I would hope other secured people would do the same and support the effort.
If anything this market strom is building a huge new pool of investing.
It's so fascinating in concept how can you not embrace it?

Take a cold shower. You’re better than this.

I'm buying more. I just don't see how this won't go up with the volume of retail sales and Blackrock coming in stronger. I don't think this has the upward potential of GME but it still has alot of opportunity for a quick nut if you move at the right time. My only concern is them offering more shares, which is certainly a possibility. Even if it doesn't really take off, they should be able to weather the Covid storm now to become a more stable value in a year or 2+. It's really a win-win as long as you don't over-invest.

If by "support" and "embrace" you mean be welcome the W achieved and the script being flipped, hell yes. If you mean "continue to money at this terrible stocks after the opportunity has passed" I'll have to disagree. I'm in the market to make money.
That being said, who knows, AMC is back in the realm of "not insane" so it may be a long term hold to see if they can figure it out.

I guess we will know by Friday

I'm really anxious to see how this sucker looks tomorrow. It seems like day trading is pretty much having no impact lately, despite all of the volume going in - it's the after hours and pre-market that are really driving the wild swings. To be honest, I'm legitimately confused by it - it's almost as if they're buying themselves up all day at a standard that attracts other buyers then regrouping for the next move. Which still makes me believe that it'll eventually spike, so they can sell what they have on hand at a premium. It would basically be giving the WSB a taste of their own medicine.
