Apparently the lead ape forgot he's supposed to hodl. Or maybe he knows more dilution is coming after the new year.
I said it many pages ago, he's been playing you guys like a fiddle. But I would like to get Greyparrot and Sasquatch's insider info on how this is actually indicating that the squeeze is imminent.
ETA: I love his attempt at justifying it by saying the sales were "prudent for estate plannning". You mean he knows it's worth more now than it's going to be in a few weeks, and that's good for his estate?
quote:
Adam Aron, chief executive officer of AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc., sold another $9.65 million in shares of the meme-driven theater stock, following sales that he had said were prudent for estate planning.
Aron, who has led the struggling movie-theater chain since 2016, sold 312,500 shares on Dec. 7 for $30.867, according to a regulatory filing Thursday after markets closed. That followed recent sales valued at more than $25 million.
quote:
Separately AMC’s chief financial officer, Sean Goodman, sold all of his 18,316 shares for about $565,000, according to a filing. That doesn’t include almost 600,000 shares that are subject to continued service or targets.
Corporate executives routinely sell stock they get as compensation. But Aron has publicly wooed retail investors and touted AMC’s future prospects while selling the stock and benefiting from a mammoth rally in the shares.

Aron has basically sold all of his shares, holding less than 100K shares remaining. Wonder if other companies will try to lure him away to memeify their company before they go bankrupt as well.

I took a quick peak at the Reddit sub for this and it was interesting. Some are still trying to justify any/all moves ("he told us months ago he was going to sell") and others are seeing it for what it is...retail buying the float, buying the new issuances, and then AMC brass selling to take their money.
It's been a transfer of wealth alright, just in the opposite direction of what they were expecting

I thought he sold shares that he already announced he would already be selling in his last earnings call. He did not sell any new shares.
I'm not worried, but I guess i'll be riding this bitch to zero

We’re 200 pages into this thread. Nobody is changing anybody’s mind. How about when we get to page ??? of this thread and AMC is worth your perceived value, come back and Greygoose shows his portfolio % of now vs when the thread started and best man is declared the winner.

We wanna do this now?
From my good friend Greyparrot. We need his expertise now more than ever.

Are you buying puts with Chitstain? AMC will see $100 before it will see $20 again.

My dearest Carlsoda, the most smug and arrogant (and delusional/misguided?) among us...we're now a few months after this post. Can we say who was correct?

What difference does it make if he was on record that he was gonna sell? Selling is selling. Meanwhile, retail continues to press each other to hold and carry the bag while the Board offloads at tremendous profits.
And like I said, it's never a good look when the company leadership is selling whatever they can, especially for a meme stock where the dream is a short squeeze. And you know more shares are gonna hit the market following the new year.
If I was holding, I'd at least consider investing in some puts to protect whatever I had left (assuming you're going to continue to hodl).

WOOF

WOOF
Can't believe I wasn't aware of these short squeezes back in August, but thankfully someone with the mental acuity of Carlsoda was willing to help me.

This was already disclosed months ago. He acknowledged that he would be selling these shares over the next few months which is not uncommon for a CEO nearing retirement. If this is news to you, have you decided to short the stock yet?

My money will work harder for me elsewhere, as I noted many pages ago.
But hey, if you are able to explain away everything that happens on the stock...go for it. You just may be riding this thing down even further.
And shouldn't him supposedly nearing retirement be a negative by itself? If he's the head ape, with the vision to drive the stock price to unimaginable highs, and he's going to be leaving?

Yet you continue to post on a stock that you have no interest in?

I simply stated that what you are pretending to be a new development, is old news.

Not at all. That's not why I'm invested in this.

If it went to zero, I'd still be ahead with realized gains. Sorry you continue to miss out.

I'm invested largely to remind people like greyparrot and carlsoda (who may be the same person) of their ridiculous and incorrect takes. Like AT they likely cost some people here a lot of money.
And there's something really gratifying about exposing people who are smug and think they're the smartest people in the room.

When I said my money worked harder elsewhere, I wasn't joking. I'm up baw.
Let's revisit this again in the new year.

Perhaps you would like to tell us how much your up? Being your jumping on the "Smug" train.
And these "meme" stocks have their place if you play them right. I tell you what I'll challenge you right now to who made the biggest play on realized gains this year if you like. Just say when....

I was responding to the other poster suggesting I was and continue to miss out. I'm not.

I don't disagree at all. The people I'm calling out are the ones who told everyone with 100% certainty that the big squeeze was coming, hold no matter what, there was still value if you bought at $50 or whatever it was.
Like I said just before this, those people likely cost some posters here a lot of money. Just like AT did, and he's been rightfully vilified for it.

How smart of you to pick and choose when to come in and brag. Didn't see you bragging much when it $45 last month?
Challenge is open to compare realized gains for 2021 if you like?

Why are you so confident this will not squeeze eventually?
