Hey Money guru's,

I am 25 and looking for the best books to begin to educate myself on investing and such.

I consider myself to know virtually nothing and need a good place to start. I want to gain a good knowledge base on investing in general. Any suggestions?

Start off with investment philosophy books, i.e. Automatic Millionaire, Millionaire Next Door, Rich Dad Poor Dad

Once you know how to think like an investor, move into a niche, real estate, securities, forex, etc. You have to have the mindset down before you start investing if you want to be successful.

Please for the sake of your financial future read "The New Coffee House Investor" and "The Bogleheads Guide to Inevesting". Both extremely easy reads and provide such a simple personal financial formula that I wish I had been educated with when I was 25. Your investing activities don't have to be as cluttered as you might think with the race to 'beat the market', just simple, disciplined investing approach in primarily index funds will provide you with a retirement nestegg larger than you think. I also think "Millionaire Next Door" is a great book.

Take threesheets advice on Rich Dad Poor Dad and Millionaire Next Door. These books help you think like a successful investor, however, they don't give any specifics about niches. You will have to find your own niche.

These are the best to start with because you will need a foundation to understand philosophy. Knowing the difference between a stock and a bond is useless if you can't discern what your objectives are.

Investing for Dummies is awesome as well. Any of the "Dummies" books written by Eric Tyson are outstanding in my opinion.
