Fired Edward Jones Around First Of The Year...

...and moved everything to Vanguard. Should have done that many years ago. Pretty sure I would have easily averaged netting 3%+ more per year than I did for the last 10 years I was with them.

I realized while taking a financial course in grad school that the EJs of the world exist because the general public does not understand what a mutual fund/ETF is.

I did the same thing. EJ should not even be in business all they do is rip off investors

I knew we were getting screwed, but my wife liked going in every year and getting a recap from a “pro”.

I don't know why anyone still uses Edward Jones. Their fees are horrible. I used to have a few funds with State Farm and fired them in 2011 because of their fees being so damn high. They love to tout themselves as some sort of major player and a fantastic deal but in reality, their funds and fees both suck arse. Edward Jones is similar.
