Any TD physicians get a check for FICA refund and interest from their residency programs? $16,000+ check came in out of the blue. How much did you get and what will you spend it on?

Got a couple thousand bucks a few weeks ago. Finished residency in '06, so I'm guessing you finished a while back.

I trained at Parkland 02-05. Inquired about this a couple of years ago. Denied there was any 'error' or back money owed to me. Gave up trying.

If FICA was taken out of your paychecks as a resident, you should be eligible to have it refunded. If you didn't know this and do the paperwork for it a year or so ago, it may be complicated, but you wouldn't be alone in that boat. Maybe there will be or could be a new effort on behalf of the ones who were left out. Got any friends who are tax attorneys?
