I haven't even been drug tested for the last two jobs I've had (my first full time jobs). People in finance and accounting DGAF what you do after work as long as you get your shite done and you're not violating some kind of securities laws. I don't know who these assclowns are in Lake Charles doing that sort of stuff but I'm glad I'm not in that industry, whatever it may be.

I wouldn't mind if a potential employer wanted to see my facebook page, which I currently have set to private. The issue with asking for the password is that it would also give them access to all of my personal messages, which seems like a serious invasion of privacy. I would never work for a company that required that.
that is how i feel too. I would have no problem letting my boss see what I post on facebook and what groups I am a member of. However there is no way in hell they will be reading my private conversations. I don't even login facebook except maybe once a week and i certainly don't use it to communicate when I still have text & email which is much easier in my opinion. It is about the principal to me. At this very moment I'll let anyone read my work email. My wife is the only person on this earth that I would let read my gmail account. Nothing to really hide, but I like my privacy.
A friend of mine works at a courthouse and her boss made her un-friend a few attorneys that practiced there. I have no problem with that b/c a judge has to be impartial and having their employees friend-ing some attorneys throws up a red flag.

The lesson here is that whether a company has your password or not, everything you do online is potentially searchable. Be smart now & quit saying & doing things that might hurt you later.

Those same people that want to do an FBI quality background check will go get wasted after work and not blink an eye at it. I just do not know why a company would want to merge the professional and personal sides of life that much.

Some people have a natural inclination to want to get all up in everybody else's business. HR departments tend to attract these types.
