Content is King.
Agreed. But if static Content is King (words and still images), then Moving Content with sound is Heaven on Earth. Aka: videos and slideshows. People don't like to read anymore. When the biz owner is the star of the show (in a 30-second short marketing video), the biz owner gets his message across to the viewer in the way he wants it delivered (inflection and articulation) instead of wishing and hoping the viewer gets it. The potential client also gets to listen to the owner speak. That goes a long way in establishing a trust level. If you're not a good speaker or camera shy, get a pro voice-over to tell your story. Explainer videos for products or processes are great too.

Also, a slideshow is very effective. Did you know Facebook lets you change your old static Facebook cover pic to a video or slideshow? It's in the rollout phase now. In those first few precious seconds somebody visits your page, you have to get to the point quickly. Slideshows do that. And when they see that "Play" button on a video, it compels them to click on it.

You can also post the videos/slideshows on Twitter and Instagram. Very effective when you see them along side an ocean of dead/static images.

When you post videos to YouTube or Vimeo - provided your title and keywords are done properly - your video thumbnail will appear in Google organic results amidst a sea of text results. Very compelling.
