I've had mine frozen for years. It's very easy to do, and only takes a minute or two remove the bureau needed for a credit run to unfreeze.
What is the website for banks --- and checking accounts --- and how to freeze them as well? Technically, I know the three bureaus helps prevent new credit lines from being opened, but there is a company/website that is dedicated to banking as well.

music to my ears people taking the advice. I just wish I would have done it sooner. Luckily nothing happened but I would stress about this a lot but not now. I do check my credit cards and debit card often but this was my biggest worry. Not now

To each his own with this, I look at credit for a living and have for 20yrs. I have seen actual identity fraud one time in 20yrs. I always recommend something like credit Karma to monitor your credit. As long as the service is free it doesn't hurt. Life lock is a waste of money.
