Personally...I don't trade an Index ETF..but rather individual stocks...remember, no one picks the the top or the bottom, not even the so called experts.

Open a Roth and buy a total market index ETC like VTI.
Hold long term and never pay capital gains on the growth. You don't have to call the bottom to get a huge gain over time.
