Well....I feel a bit dumber about credit cards after going through this thread and links.

My marriott rewards card works for me because of my business and personal hotel choices. I really enjoy the "perks" with the card...but after reading about platinum, it appears I could receive the same level of quality service at ANY hotel with platinum.

Hell, I believe the American Express Blue preferred may be my best option.

I am more damn confused now.....

I still want to know more about the VR thing. Weird how everyone went quiet. Is this some sort of Masonic thing and someone let something slip

Quick question for you bro... Didn't want to start a new thread bc I figured it get moved to the OT and I don't want it over there.

I know you travel a lot with work. How do you enjoy it? Looking to make a change this year and considering doing something out of my comfort box and looking at a work from home/travel opportunity.

Something where I'd be traveling 1-2 days every week or two.

I hear it gets old, but would like to do it while I'm somewhat young and dont have a family.

Thoughts? Ups/downs?

I am probably the wrong person to be asking. My experience is quite different than most. 99/100 times I travel to the same airport.

There is no way to do what I do without the travel. I love what I do, so traveling is merely something I have to do to continue to do what I do.

I personally find flying relaxing and a chance to unplug. Sorry I am not more help

I stepped on 70+ Delta Planes last year

Personally I would do it as long as it doesn't put a huge strain on your family

I am only engaged and my fiancé hates the amount I travel. But she understands. My attitude will likely change once we start a family

I do have some skymiles though

And you said that was between only one airport. So you roughly traveled 1.5 times a week?

I just need a change. I can't fricking sit in an office 45hrs a week. Driving me insane!!!

2 planes to get there... 2 to get back. There are no direct flights where I go

I flew a few times for pleasure though

We shall see... Beginning to investigate a few options right now.

One of which may be a step back in pay, but I think the freedom and not having to sit in an office may be worth the $$$ difference.

Sorry. I've been busy as hell through this "snowstorm".
Yes, the link Bacon provided is where we all learned.

It's good to know these options are available, and what is economically practical as well as what is an efficient use of your time.

I don't do a lot of MS unless I need a minimum spend bonus or an extra spend bonus to hit a certain threshold if I'm fairly close.

I just signed up for the Citi Executive AAdvantage card. $10k spend in 3 months. That's a definite MS candidate.

If you haven't seen this offer. 100k AA miles, $200 statement credit after $200 spend, Admirals Club. $450 Annual fee. LINK

I'm not sure what citi pulls from. Looks like equifax and that's my worst score. I do better with Experian pulls as I'm getting close to 750 on that one.

I've read that ~720 scores have been given credit lines.

It's an out of pocket $200 cost. But 110k AA miles upon completion of minimum spend is pretty damn valuable. That's a business class ticket to anywhere in the world roundtrip for $200, free luggage, and club lounges.

I bought a car 2 weeks ago and they used my experian... That was the first time I had ever seen anyone pull experian

I've always had it be equifax... Is experian getting bigger?

That is roughly my Equifax. Was high 7teens a couple of weeks ago.
That is a ton of points, but I might wait as I have to knock out a couple more minimum spends in the next couple of months and don't need a $10k MS on my plate. I already knocked out the Gold and Platinum, now working on the CSP and then I have a Chase SW Airlines card after that.
