It takes 5 minutes to place an order and log the purchase on a spreadsheet twice a month for GCs. 2 orders a month = $45K a year. Say 1hr to liquidate and deposit twice and pay the bill once in a month. That is a total of 2h and 10m per month give or take. At 1.5c per point towards travel, you are "earning" @ $135 an hr. For 1 cpp cashback, you are earning $90 an hr at the very least.
#1 - 2h and 10m a month is hardly a "second job"
#2 - If it is a job, it pays pretty well!
Just my opinion

Let's talk about this offline soon if you don't mind. I'd rather keep the card and an extra 100K+ UR would justify the $95 easy.

Yes I may consider getting back into it. These domestic flights are killing me lately so it would be nice to offset.

Lol you are about to get banned
I sent you an email. Although I didn't mean to allude to anything in secret. I was just talking about GC orders at our favorite online office store with no stores in BR/Nola.
As far as domestic flights are concerned, I am going to use my FlexPerks @ 1.5c for those and any other flights from now on where I cant use SW and save my UR (Starting 1/1/2018 ofcourse)

Got it. Ya, I know we've discussed it before but wanted a back channel in case it got out of hand
I assume using Staples Visa GCs? I used to do that but stopped. Moving cities and buying a house and then two cars (frick me) pulled me out of too many shenanigans

Yea. 6x$300 comes to $1,853.70 with fees. You can't do more than $2K including fees.
Too bad OD rewards changed this month and no longer earn the 3% on GCs. Was nice earning 3% OD rewards in addition to 5x and lower fees. Especially during those negative fees OD promos.

Ya, I think I was watching that, figured it would get snuffed.
Are you doing MO at Wally World and so forth?
I might just cut the difference and use them for every day spend if MOing becomes too much hassle. Never really went that route.
I'd try FlexPerks but US Bank is being an a-hole.

Only after you've maxed UR, OBC, SimplyCash and probably BBP ($50K each) would this make sense to MS on. First 3 are 5x cards. BBP is 2x MR on upto $50K per year. In two player mode that in itself is $400K of MS per year (that yields 500K UR, $10K cash and 200K MR). I don't think you do that, so FlexPerks doesn't quite make sense for you (imo).

Ink+ = $50K a year limit for 5X. Ink Cash is limited to $25K. So 250K UR vs 125K UR limit.
I'm not a manufactured spend guy, so I'd rather save the $95 a year, but for those that work the game harder than I do, it makes sense

Ha I meant just to abuse the sign up bonus but ya that answer fleshes out the other options.
I need to steer my attention back on this stuff and reeducate myself with the current options.

what bank are you depositing MOs? I know I read in the past the MS has been high. I got a question last week at my local bank about where am I getting all those MOs from. The tellers noticed so I think I need to spread it around.

Tell them the truth that you bought them yourself.

Have you ever done a detailed post on Manufactured spend and it's benefits?
I currently have the following:
CSR(received last fall)
Chase Freedom(first non authorized user credit card in 2011)
Chase Freedom Unlimited(little tax mistake last year so opened up in April with zero balance offer)
Chase Sapphire No Fee(2012 don't even remember intro offer)
Chase IHG(got in May 2017 missed the 100K bonus, they wouldn't match.)
Previously had:
Chase Preferred, just closed it.
Southwest Preferred and Premier for CP in July 2015, closed both November 2016.
Just applied:
Chase Ink Plus 80K offer waiting approval/rejection
Have 225K UR and 65K IHG right now.
Trying to follow in Teddy's footsteps to Peru this Christmas/NYE and maybe Segway the last four days in Colombia on the return. Trying to figure out the best way to book the United flight with UR transfer to United points so we Just pay for 2 reward flights and get from MSY-->Lima-->Cuzco-->Bogota-->MSY
Haven't found the best way yet. I know this was a lot but if anyone reads a portion and hasn't some thoughts I would appreciate it.

Yeah youre on the right track.
Bad news is that I dont think you will find award availability during the holodays. Especially this late. Its tough even 360 days out and in economy. 5 months out and premium cabin is near impossible bar really good luck.
Good news is that you seem to have enough UR to where if you did find something you could jump on it immediately.

Wife and I both just got a mailer for 150K American Express offer.
100k after $5k spend and additional 50k after $10k.
We're both about a year away from being clear of the chase 5/24 rule. I basically did 10 within 6 months.
....which paid for 10 nights in Hawaii and is funding 8 nights in the Maldives soon. Well worth it, but - in short, we need to reload! Will this count against my "clock" with chase and will the 5 with chase effect AE approval?

1.
Yes it will count against your Chase clock
2. In a vacuum, no.

Thanks.
I've never really manufactured spent either. At the time we got all those other we just had business and personal expenses.
Any advice on how to pull that off?
