I wasn't clear...by value I meant minimum spending combined with bonus value. Nothing on the market will give you the same value for such a small minimum spending.

Yah, it may be lucrative to some...specifically small business owners who can legitimately make $5K purchases.
You earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points for $5,000 in spend. Pretty typical. Then, you earn an additional 20,000 bonus points for each additional $5,000 + purchase up to 200,000 additional points. It equates to 250K after $55K in spend.

Chicago to Bejing DIRECT flight for $495 right now (plenty of availability for October). I have a specific reason to go there, but that is literally half price of what it normally is.

I'm strongly considering it. I think the offer is good until June. I might get it in late May. It pays for itself with the flight reimbursements in the first year.
