The SPG bonus is good till the 31st which is two weeks after my HH statement closes.
Actually, the SPG offer ends on the 30th fyi. I am waiting until the end of the month as I just got the Ink so I'm trying to spread the $5k spends as much as possible. Good luck.

90k? Howcome? Which points did you use? What is the breakdown? Routing?
It should have been 50K rt to dublin then 30k rt to rome. Where is the extra 10k coming from? Is there a stopover in London? $400 in taxes and fees sound high too

For those that visited Thailand, what month did you go? How was the weather?
We are looking in early December but I don't want to go then if it's going to be rainy.

Thats when I went. Weather was perfect. Rained 1 day out of 12 when we were on Koh Samui (gets higher rain in general).

I got it when I had a redemption in mind, already had 20,000 miles banked, and it came with $50 credit.
So far, I've just used the credit on a $150 one way from vegas to bring it to $100.
I'll burn them on some random adverture here soon

Didn't they have a promo recently for card members? Something like 40 or 50k rt to europe? That could've been promising especially with no YQ

What hotel did you stay at? Good redemption or just cheap lodging in general?
Posted on 3/12/16 at 4:35 pm to HollierThanThou
Cheap lodging in general. Including chains.
Conrad Koh Samui is cool if you got Hilton Free night certs. But honestly, Thailand has so many good and cheap options, I would lean towards doing that instead.
InterContinental on the west side has some gorgeous views as well.
A/w, do cash redemptions for the most part in Thailand and save your points/certificates for "better value."

Was approved for citi more access card. I didn't purchase phone at time of approval..is there another way? (I haven't received email with phone link)
Posted on 3/13/16 at 3:10 pm to cmlsu
The link popped up for me when I was logged in to the Citi credit card portal for that card. It said something like card offers. Go to the flyertalk thread for that card and it discusses some ways to get the offer to pop up. I think it will also sometimes pop up when you try to upgrade the phone from the att account of the primary credit card account holder.
I never got an email with any offer links.

Used your Chase SP link last week, how long do they usually take to process the application and is there somewhere I can go to check the status of said app?
Posted on 3/15/16 at 2:08 pm to JamalSanders
Haven't done apps in a while so starting in February I did a few.
Citi World X 2 (me and wife)
Citi Business X 1
Starwood Business X 2
Starwood Personal (wife)
Total haul 150k AA miles plus 105k SPG points which I believe translates to another 126000 miles plus miles for both all of the spend.
Total should come out right about 300k miles received. That's it. I'm done for a while.

If you weren't auto approved you can call below...
(800) 432-3117 – General Application Status Line, automated
(800) 436-7927 – Alternative General Application Status Line, automated
Twitter: @ChaseSupport
note: automated line responses stating they will notify you in 2 weeks often result in an approval; automated lines responses stating they will notify you in 7-10 days often result in a denial.

Nice.
I mailed out my W9 to Citi yesterday.
We'll see what other hoop I have to go through for those 50k American Miles.

Just FYI - I had the two week message on a recent app. About 30 days after applying, received in the mail a letter asking me to verify my income by sending in pay stubs or a W-2. At that point, I called reconsideration line and played dumb about the letter as I didn't want to send that stuff in. The rep moved credit from an existing account line and approved me.
