This is too awesome lol
It's awesome to meet minimum spends and hit bonus thresholds. There are reports of people with no problem who do 10-20k/month with no issues and there are reports of people who do 15k/month and get their cards closed and points wiped.

If you are going to really get after it, make sure you understand the consequences.

15k/month

Are they paying their amex bill with the bluebird acct? Or CSP or whatever?
That amount would make me too nervous. I just plan on mortgage and that's about it. An extra 2k a month would be just fine for me. I think if I went all out I'd get busted. That's just my luck.

I'm not sure what is triggering their accounts to get reviewed.
I pay my Chase bills directly from Bluebird, but I always pay my AMEX from checking. Really don't know if it matters or not.

If you are doing large amounts, it's wise to transfer points out as soon as they are posted(they can't take them back).

Amazon Payments is hands down the easiest form of MS and free.

I haven't been able to get this done because when I set up my fiance's account it wanted all this info to substantiate it. Its impossible to get her to do this sort of stuff since she has zero interest in it. My friends think I'm a side show, but jokes gonna be on them!

As for the getting busted stuff. Its hard to figure out what was really going on. You don't know if they are even telling the truth or if they were putting 20k of MS on one card every single month, which is what I suspect.

I would never take a card with a 5k limit and put 20k on it a month. I'm sure that is what the CC company is freaking out about, not the MS that 20k represents.

I pay my Amex with Bluebird, but I only MS maybe $500 on the SPG a month. Plus, I never MS with SPG and immediately pay off the SPG, I always do it randomly to random cards that just need their balance lowered. Since I don't carry balances month to month, I don't really care what balance goes down at what time, so it randomizes it among them all. Throw in that I don't only use my cards, but fiance's as well, and I think the MS appears minimal to the banking side.

Teddy, when do you get the 7% dividend with the CSP? End of the year or every year upon renewal?

Fail of a day one.

1) I went to a local CVS to see if I could buy a VR with Credit Card. yes!

2) Bought it and came home

3) signed up for BB and realized it would take 7-10 days for the card. Doh

4) noticed though you can get a starter pack at WM for $5 with a temp card for $5. Aha, thought I would do that and come home and load.

5) Negative ghostrider... cannot load temp card. I guess I am sitting in the truck for 7-10 business days waiting for the real BB cards

That sucks. I understand though. I had to make a few promises for having carte blanche with her credit identity. My profession dictates I be financially responsible, so I had that going for me. It was still met with plenty of .

I understand. I've kept the points game conversations to a minimum with most of my friends. I did talk one couple in to it on a small scale. Basically said, let me start you out small just to show what I can do for you.(Boiler Room)

Exactly. I also think it was a very small vocal % that were clamoring. It made people think it was more rampant than it was.

Good to know you haven't had issues with paying Amex. I basically do the same as you with everything else for the "random" factor. Again, no idea if it really matters.

Everything I read on FT says it should be on your February statement usually. My January closes out on about the 6th of February so I anticipate seeing it then.

Smart.

I don't rely on that bonus as much as when I got the card because my fiance has a Chase Checking account and that supposedly gives you a yearly 10% bonus with Chase Freedom, so we funnel some non-category spend on that.

I'm torn between keeping my Ink Plus or CSP at premium level. If I'm not going to do over 20k a year of 5x bonus cats on Ink Plus then I should do the regular Ink with CSP. If I am, then reverse it.

I cancel anything with a annual fee except my amex. If I can justify the benefits of a card with an AF I am open to keeping it... I just have yet to find that card

The Ink Plus, Amex SPG(Most of my spend on this and get the SPG gold. $65 AF isn't too bad), and Chase IHG are my keeper cards right now. I'll probably cancel the CSP. Don't need it and the Ink Plus/Bold.

IHG has a $49 AF and receives a free night annually with no limitations on where it can be used. Wife and I both have one. That can hold some value.

I do.

Is the regular version plastic? I believe it is. That sucks if so.

I think it mostly comes down to that 20k level with the Inks. From what I understand you get all the benefits of Ink Plus just capped at 20k a year. This includes 2x gas and 2x hotels. You lose transfer ability as well of course.

Downgrading CSP loses travel bonus, transfer (of course), and yearly bonus (don't care). I guess the flexibility of being ABLE to put 50k in 5x bonuses with Ink Plus makes it the keeper transfer premium card.

*Bacon that's my issue here. Have to keep one at premium level for award transfer when I'm ready to this time next year, which is going to require paying the AF on one of these two.

I guess I'll downgrade CSP this year as I suppose it will be easier to upgrade it back if I want to as opposed to trying to upgrade Ink card back up to Plus if I don't like how it shaked out.

That and Chase Hyatt cards are definitely keepers if you plan to use those hotels once a year. Pays for the card fee easily without even using the thing. I need to look into their churnability though, as it is probably more lucrative to churn the Hyatt every few years rather than paying the AF for the free nights.

Two things:
1-my CSP feels plastic but very thick. What is wrong with my card?!
2-just tried to buy a VR at a CVS but the cashier said it was cash only. Said it is a store specific decision.

Go to the doctor to check for nerve damage because it is definitely metal

Luck of the draw. Thankfully there are probably 30 more in your area.
