CVS are the main ones that accept CCs
Good to know. I can't drive half a mile without passing a CVS around here. Must be a lot of prescriptions in Houston
CVS is definately my go to...However, even those are store specific. I have one CVS that will let me do anything and another who insists on splitting up the transactions. Also, if you purchase over $1K in "beans" some require the ID swipe. CVS also recently upped the amount you can buy daily but you still have the $5K monthly load limit for each bluebird account.
We have no 7-11's around her so I'm definately gonna try the other store to see if I have some luck.
Basically, I'm just using the MS with the bird to meet current intro bonuses and take advantage of paying bills that normally don't accept cc's. I spend about $5-10 thousand monthly on the cards. I might do another app o rama in the summer that is more specific to a family Disney trip in spring 2015.

Monthly...but you can have quite a few accounts.

Each person can have more than one account? Or are you just hitting up a buddy and using his name?
Apologize for the ignorant questions!

That is about my timing as well. My plan is to satisfy all the minimum spends I currently have (almost done actually) and lay low for 90-180 days.
That puts me right about summertime. We should have a thread and all do TDMT Appapalooza 2014 at the same time.

Blue Cash Preferred from American Express
6% cash back at supermarkets, 3% at gas stations and department stores, and 1% on everything else.

I'm mainly referring to a spouse...all you need is a social for a seperate account. However, some people go overboard...that's when you hear the jokes about "even my dog has a bluebird".

Anyone have problems at CVS purchasing VR with their Sapphire? The last two times I got a fraud alert email asking if it was a legit purchase. Even after saying yes, CVS needed a different form of payment.

Yes....only when they split the transaction. Seems like the second transaction triggered the alert. I spoke with Chase and everything's good now...have you responded to them?

There is a different between reloads and their debit card correct? At 7/11 I saw 2 different products from vanilla and one said reload on it but had a visa symbol? Trying to figure out what to look for

Well - another curve - just learned from my boss's boss that brokerage firms have the best rewards cards for the clients.
I am researching Merrill Lynch's card now - it appears you need to spend 50k a year to get the points flowing.

Does anybody have experience with big crumbs? (Can't remember if I saw the post here)
They have a 2.1% cashback on the AMEX gift card purchase. Basically, you use the cc to buy gift card and then you can spend normally or MS. You then get the cash back through big crumbs. Below is my link...be careful some cc's treat it as cash advance and not eligible for points.

Awesome! Thanks. One last noob question... What makes the vr the better choice over a standard prepaid gift card (ie visa debit or Walgreens debit). Thanks so much!!!!

Usually its a few things:
Fees (VR is 3.95 for $500, other routes are upwards to 6.95 for $200)
Fact there are stores that will take CC for it. (Some things like REloadit are hard coded at the register for cash only)
Lastly, the ability to load onto Bluebird which has zero fees (some similar products have fees).
ETA:
OTR here is a YMMV deal. Went back again today and was told cash only by different cashiers.
