I have Amex gold and rake in 6-8k points a month, on top of the $10 month from grub hub and $100 airline fees.

A good example of why it’s worth it comes today. I used 30,000 points to get $300 in enterprise rental gift cards which is going to cover my $320 rental next month for my mountain trip.

If you look into it hard enough, it is clearly worth it IMO.

Amex platinum has many other perks not listed. I’m military so AMEX waives the annual fee. But if you fly delta, you get free access to Delta club with ticket. Also get hilton honors with free breakfasts, room upgrades. Also get Avis preferred along with other perks not listed. If you travel a lot for work, AMeX platinum is well worth tte annual fee.
