Anyone else here purchased a budget vehicle recently? Lots of threads about BMWs and Tahoes, but I am looking for something on the lower end of the spectrum.
I have a 25 mile commute to the base everyday and I am looking for something cheap with good gas mileage that can get me from A to B. My wife is going to be driving my 4runner (paid off) in town.
Anywhere in the ~$5,000 range is what I am looking for. Any ideas?
I have enough to pay cash but it would practically empty my savings. Rates are so low right now I would almost rather pay half cash and finance the rest. Is that even possible on a such a small amount?

This. (Or Camry)
Not even that old really. For $5-7k can prob get a mid 2003-2005 with decent mileage (have not researched at all, just based on estimate).
