marc andreessen is a crypto bro, who runs one of the largest PACs in the country. He is basically a politician

Wouldn't trust anything he has to say.

Should probably move this to the poli board

Did you?

If you were the President, what would you do about AI?

Do we just let any a-hole build nukes?

He put up $20M over two years. Big whoop compared to most big corps / Soros types.

Can you dispute anything specific he said or are you just trying to muddy up the conversation?

Fairshake was the 4th largest PAC in the country when spending on just elections this year. Andressen and his company that he owns donated over 30% of this PAC alone. He runs it, make no mistake. Obviously he does not put his name on it, thus the nature of PACs

This does not even include other pro crypto PACs he donates in this space. There is a reason why Trump is pro crypto this cycle. They were the biggest donators

quote:

This may come as a surprise to voters — candidates and ads backed by crypto’s political action committees barely mentioned the industry or its pet issue, regulation. Yet, Fairshake, its primary vehicle for the campaign, has become the largest single-issue super PAC in history. Fairshake and two affiliated super PACs, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, are funded by Coinbase, Ripple Labs and Andreessen Horowitz, among other industry heavyweights.

quote:

Its influence campaign dwarfed traditional corporate donors like Koch Industries, recently renamed Koch Inc., and Chevron Corp. It now ranks second only to the fossil fuel industry in total money deployed since the landmark 2010 Supreme Court decision that lifted limits on companies’ political spending, according to consumer advocacy nonprofit Public Citizen.

quote:

“They’ve gone out of their way to avoid being ideological in terms of explaining what the mission of their super PACs is,” he said. “This is a huge ‘corporate money in politics’ problem that the crypto sector is exploiting in ways we haven’t seen before.”

Bloomberg source

He has vested financial interest to misled anyone. He is not a non-bias "expert", not only that he has heavy invested interest in the tunes of billions.

No, He can't.

I'm no fan of Andreeseen or big corporations/money but I understand the point he is making in the clip.

His industry was debanked because the primary cyrpto banks Silicon Valley Bank, Silvergate, and Signature Banks were all runing massive fraud schemes and high risk to fraudulent crypto exchanges.

Amazing all the ones that failed due to basically bank runs with affiliations to offshore crypto exchanges. It cut off "crypto" less so tech CEOS from banks. Because they blatantly ignored KYC laws

Paradox - missing out on the new gold rush. Wants to make sure as many others as possible miss out too.

Can't bring himself up, so he has to bring others down.

No point in discussing anything with him

Nah, I'm not like that.

I want everyone to do well.

I just don't understand the hostility. I want more freedom. Gov shouldn't pick and choose who win. We need more innovation.
