Current guy uses desktop. Is there a difference between the two?

You need to give all the details or you aren’t going to get the help you need. Not knowing the difference e with all due respect to help you out your going to do this organization more harm then good, if you aren’t the owner.

I do a lot of book keeping on Quickbooks Online for my business but I’m the owner, I Frick up plenty, and I also have a cpa to help me.

If this is for a church, hunting club, etc that’s one thing. But with your knowledge you it’s going to be ugly early without professional guidance.

Quickbooks desktop is much cheaper, as said the limitation is its only on one computer unless you host it online.

We host our desktop file on a server. Can have up to 5 users at one time. It's much more complicated to put the desktop version in the cloud. It's really designed for a server for multi user access. If you need the Enterprise version because of data complexity, the server is the way to go.
